Bollé ROAD BIKE HELMETS
At the pinnacle of protection technology, Bollé's men's and women's road bike helmets combine aerodynamics, lightweight construction, and exceptional ventilation, perfect for competition or intense training sessions.
How to Choose Your Road Bike Helmet?
An essential piece of gear for all your cycling adventures, a road bike helmet is more than just an accessory. Unlike mountain bike helmets, it remains a critical safety element, protecting cyclists' heads from projectiles and impacts during falls. Proper fit is crucial for effectiveness.
To choose the ideal helmet, consider the following criteria:
-
Fit: Head circumference and fit are paramount for safety and comfort. The brand's Click-To-Fit™ system allows for precise, easy, and lightweight adjustment. Note that height can be adjusted to accommodate ponytails.
-
Ventilation: Bollé bike helmets offer exceptional ventilation with large front openings for optimal airflow circulation. This design ensures effective cooling and maintains structural integrity, essential for rider protection.
-
Lightweight: Bollé road bike helmets are known for remarkable lightweight construction achieved through advanced materials, maximizing weight reduction while ensuring durability.
-
Compatibility with Glasses: The Opti-Dock system stabilizes frames of all sizes and styles without interfering with airflow or touching the head.
Flagship of the AVIO Range the AVIO MIPS embodies excellence in road bike helmets, combining advanced protection, cutting-edge aerodynamics, ultra-lightweight design, and exceptional ventilation. This model features the Brain Protection MIPS system and AVID Aero Progressive EPS technology, redirecting airflow and managing impact energy to optimize safety while keeping the cyclist's head cool. Its streamlined Kamm Tail shape reduces aerodynamic drag and enhances speed. The ECO AVIO MIPS takes an eco-friendly approach with recycled materials, while the AVIO PURE MIPS further extends the brand's sustainability commitment with a high proportion of durable materials.
What is MIPS Technology?
A patented safety system, MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System), is integrated into most Bollé road bike helmets to reduce rotational force transmitted to the head during an impact. The advanced MIPS Air rotational management system is designed to be lightweight and inconspicuous. Integrated into the helmet's padding, it allows for 10 to 15 millimeters of relative movement between the energy-absorbing layer and the padding during an impact, facilitated by a polycarbonate support treated with anti-friction coating and specific fixtures for full mobility.
When to Replace Your Road Bike Helmet?
Replace your helmet immediately after a significant impact, if you notice signs of damage, or every 5 years, as materials like plastics and foams can degrade over time, losing effectiveness.
To maintain your helmet's integrity, clean it regularly with water and mild soap, avoiding chemical solvents that could degrade helmet materials. Air dry it and minimize exposure to extreme temperatures.
